The Pearlstines discovered WINGS and made their first investment in 1997. Long before national foundations and experts came to the consensus that WINGS is a gold star investment for anyone caring about kids growing up in poverty, the Pearlstine family was there. The early seed money they provided was critical to our start-up, and since then the family has invested time and funds to building the WINGS model so we can deliver it to more at-risk kids. Time and again, they prove they are a company seeking to invest their energy, wisdom and money to make the world a better place for all.

The Pearlstine Family Fund at The Coastal Community Foundation began in 1989 and since then has granted money to more than 100 area nonprofit organizations and will continue to make grants forever. In fact, the Pearlstine name is associated with every great improvement project in Charleston for the past 80 years. This is a family that gives their money, time and passion - always with the question of what they can do to help next.

We are grateful that once a year Rural Missions Rabbi (Edwin Pearlstine) comes to visit. For the past 20 years Pearlstine Distributors and family have been providing turkey dinners for less fortunate families and we are so grateful again that Edwin Pearlstine and family are with us this year for Thanksgiving.

Executive Director, Rural Missions
The Pearlstine Family Fund started supporting S.P.A.Y. in the early 1990's, and is the only fund that has continually granted my spay/neuter assistance program. Their grants have been instrumental in helping hundreds of cats and dogs being altered over the years, improving their lives considerably. The Pearlstine family's support of my work to improve the lives of owned and rescued pets has always been much appreciated. I thank them sincerely for their kindness and generosity.

President, S.P.A.Y. (Society For The Prevention of Animals Young)
